Materials Scientist
Would you like to play a key role in the research and product development of RF and microwave products? We currently have a vacancy for a Materials Scientist at our site in Towcester.
As a Materials Scientist, you will be working within the Materials team as part of the wider Microwave Materials Group, responsible for conducting research into novel and innovative materials. You will be working with RF and microwave materials that will operate in harsh environments or those used for stealth purposes on defence platforms.
This role will provide you with the opportunity to work within a dedicated team who hold a breadth of knowledge across various disciplines. You will also have the chance to work on projects from early research stages, through to product development and manufacture.
Your main responsibilities as a Materials Scientist will involve:
Undertaking research and development and contributing to the development of new technologies to help grow the technology capabilities of the business
Preparation of technical reports and presentations
Carrying out and overseeing the fabrication, measurement and analysis of materials
Working with universities and other organisations to scout new technologies and ideas, whilst developing links with other technical specialists
Liaison with both internal and external customers
Performing certain tests and developing processes in the lab as part of research activities
Your skills and qualifications as a Materials Scientist :
Degree qualified in Chemistry, Physics, Materials Science or closely related discipline
Experience in research or applied research including planning of programmes
Good working knowledge of Microsoft packages and data analysis tools
PhD would be advantageous
