Material Planner – Operations

Would you like to be in a role which will allow you visibility of the full product lifecycle? We currently have a vacancy for a Material Planner at our site in Rochester.

As a Material Planner, you will be responsible for material planning using a Material Resource Planning (MRP) program as part of a Windows based business system to ensure the availability of material for the manufacture of the company's products.

This role will provide you with the opportunity to progress within the growing function.

Your main responsibilities as a Material Planner will involve:

Ensuring work orders are serialised where required

Reviewing, monitoring and clearing job material shortages

Reviewing and processing MRP exception messages

Liaising with Procurement, Inward Goods, Stores and the Shop Floor

Performing the internal organisational transfer of material and manage work order closure

Controlling material issued to vendors and managing batch size/scheduling work orders

Maintaining tracking of work orders through the Shop Floor

Managing rework order release and internal allocation

Monitoring Return To Vendor material (RTV)

Your skills and qualifications as a Material Planner:

Excellent computer skills, including MS Office

Excellent communication, problem solving, organisation and prioritisation skills

Demonstrate a high level of customer focus

Experience in an inventory/scheduling role is highly desirable

Ideally have experience within a manufacturing organisation

Understanding of manufacturing processes would be beneficial

Salary: £19 500+
