Logistics Technician

Would you like to join BAE Systems Electronic Systems business? We currently have a vacancy for a Logistics Technician at our site in Rochester.

As a Logistics Technician, you will be working within the Logistics Team reporting to the Manufacturing Resource Leader and providing effective support to the Surface Mount Stores (SMT), but with the flexibility to work in other logistics areas when instructed. The purpose of the role within the SMT Store is to kit and load surface mount items to feed the surface mount lines that produce printed circuit boards.

This role will provide you with the opportunity to work in a busy and fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and a focus on achieving the department's service agreement. This is a manual role with some heavy lifting involved.

Your main responsibilities as a Logistics Technician will involve:

· Booking items onto Oracle

· Issuing Parts

· Kitting

· Loading/ downloading feeders

· Stock location

· Manual handling of loads

· Handling of electronic systems components

· Liaising with shop floor technicians, project planners and engineering

· Handling Of ESD Components

Your skills and qualifications:

Essential:

· Good knowledge of Microsoft software packages
· Understanding of Oracle and Workspace software

Desirable:

· Experience of working in a stores environment would be advantageous
