Logistics Planner
We currently have a vacancy for a Logistics Planner at our site in Warton.
As a Logistics Planner, you will be responsible for co-ordinating and managing the shipping and receipt of units and parts between BAE Systems, its suppliers and team mates.
This role will provide you with the opportunity to work in a fast paced challenging environment and you will get to see the end to end product cycle.
Your main responsibilities as a Logistics Planner will involve:
Maintaining and operating of the balanced workload plan
Progressing scheduled customer requirements
Supporting the resolution of problems affecting the ability of operations to work to the workload plan
Communication with appropriate stakeholders of information effecting the successful progression of logistics and operations activities
Contributing to the daily / weekly start up meeting sessions with logistics team members and other supply chain stakeholders
Supporting the reviewing of business performance metrics and the timely implementation of any actions resulting from the reviews
Supporting any activity surrounding company health, safety and environment plans and take due responsibility for yourself and colleagues operating in your area
Supporting and implementing the developing principles of operational excellence within your area (for example flow and pull, lean logistics etc.
Your skills and qualifications as a Logistics Planner :
Experience in logistics and/or supply chain procedures and processes
Previous experience of export and import activities for shipment and receipt of assets both in Europe and rest of the world
Previous experience of using MRP / ERP Systems
Proficient use of MS software such as outlook and excel
Experience of being an operational logistics planner
Knowledge of ITAR would be beneficial
What we're looking for in you:
You will have the ability to contribute to problem solving activities for the development of short and long term solutions to day to day problems. You will possess good communication skills with the ability to engage and communicate with other logistics team members and when necessary other stakeholders across the end to end supply chain.
