Junior Systems Engineer

Would you like to work across numerous different systems? We currently have a vacancy for a Junior Systems Engineer at our site in Yeovil.

As a Junior Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for helping to ensure the overall Physical, Electrical and environmental compliance of the delivered System, ensuring it meets both BAE Systems Product Safety mandates and the statutory requirements of the customer's base of operation.

This role will provide you with the opportunity to deliver systems at the operational level, whilst being responsible for the technical resolution of customer issues. You will also be required to work on customer sites, when required and other military platforms.

Your main responsibilities as a Junior Systems Engineer will involve:

Providing Systems Engineering support to the business development activities, including study/experimentation activities, system de-risking activities, interfacing with suppliers and interaction with prospective customers at a technical level

Assisting with the development and implementation of technical solutions that meet the customer requirements

Provision of realistic estimates for specified activities to the development lead

Accurately report on progress

Completing work to a high standard and to scope, quality and budget

Supporting System Integration activities

Supporting operational delivered systems

Assisting with the safe design of the system prior to delivery and for the preparation of information required by the Design Authority to support the Design Certification and Certificate of Design activities

Your skills and qualifications will Ideally Include as a Junior Systems Engineer:

A good Systems Engineering, hardware and software background.

Experience and knowledge of Communications technologies: IP networking (including network design), VOIP, network security, network management

A good understanding of designing equipment to meet stringent environmental requirements such as EMC and CE marking, Environmental etc

Understanding of Design Certification and Product Safety Processes

You will have strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written. You will have excellent innovation and problem solving skills.
You must be flexible and be prepared to work outside of normal office hours (if required) and off site working.

Location: Yeovil

Salary: £ 26,500.00
