TM1 Administrator / Junior Developer
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join BAE Systems Maritime - Naval Ships as a TM1 Administrator / Junior Developer within the IBM Cognos TM1 team.
The team strives to understand the needs of the business, to tease out their information requirements and the data required to fulfil it. They transform this insight into technical solutions that allow the business to report financial and non-financial information to various stakeholders thereby allowing the business to make swift, informed decisions.
Current TM1 models cover the Monthly Management Reporting, the Integrated Business Plan and Project Review cycles. The team provide the business with tools to monitor and report financial performance at an enterprise and project level and enable users to prepare, update and consolidate budgets, plans and forecasts.
As a TM1 Administrator / Junior Developer your main responsibilities will involve:
Maintain and support the existing TM1 models and evolve them through the defined change management process to keep pace with a dynamic and changing business environment and the latest technology upgrades.
Assist the team to manage and deliver reliable, scalable, and efficient TM1 solutions across all phases of the software development life cycle, including business analysis, requirements gathering, modelling & design, development, testing, deployment, integration, documentation and through life support.
Support the ‘TM1 Champions’ within the business and the wider business user community by providing training, best practice and TM1 knowledge transfer to empower them to leverage the information potential of the underlying models and alleviate cumbersome manual processes.
Proactively identify process improvement opportunities and drive innovation and the adoption of TM1 where appropriate.
Support dimension management, metadata design/maintenance, ETL and interface development, and data validation processes.
Please note the role will be based at Portsmouth Naval Base and may require some ad hoc travel between other UK sites.
As a TM1 Administrator / Junior Developer your skills and qualifications will ideally include:
Educated to degree level or relevant technical experience – Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent.
Strong analytical skills with some experience of designing and developing software solutions.
Some knowledge of IBM Cognos TM1 and Business Intelligence in developing end-to-end analytics solutions, including system configuration, model building, data security, and reporting would be desirable but is not essential as full training will be provided.
The role would suit a recent graduate looking to launch their career in an exciting and challenging environment.
