ILS Supply and Support Engineer (Spares Modelling)

Would you like to work on spares modelling and supportability analysis for the Type 26 programme, which will be designing and delivering a state-of-the-art combat ship to the Royal Navy? We currently have a vacancy for an ILS Supply and Support Engineer (Spares Modelling) at our sites in Portsmouth, Glasgow or Bristol.

As an ILS Supply and Support Engineer (Spares Modelling), you will be responsible for analysing supplier data and recommendations related to equipment spares, and carrying out ranging, scaling and modelling using specialist software, in order to ensure appropriate equipment availability throughout the life of the ship.

This role will enable you to use your existing spares modelling expertise and develop your knowledge across the Integrated Logistics Support discipline, which is a fast growing area within the defence industry.

Your main responsibilities as an ILS Supply and Support Engineer (Spares Modelling) will involve:

Spares modelling, using Opus10 software, to identify necessary spares for ship maintenance periods
Reviewing supplier procedures and data, questioning recommendations where appropriate to ensure best availability and cost
Producing and maintaining the initial spares provisioning list and supporting evidence
Producing spares modelling, ranging, and scaling activities within the contract requirements, liaising closely with other involved work streams
Undertaking NATO codification activities for assigned equipment
Identifying potential risks to the supplier programme and providing potential remedial actions
Identifying and implementing continuous improvement opportunities to reduce costs and enhance the effectiveness of both supply support activities and the overall project
Producing spares reports that validate the level of recommended spares
Identifying packaging, handling, storage and transportation requirements relating to spares and support & test equipment

Your skills and qualifications as an ILS Supply and Support Engineer (Spares Modelling) will include:

Essential:

HNC/ HND/ Degree or equivalent qualification in an engineering discipline
Experience in spares modelling or ranging and scaling
Understanding of the interactions between maintenance engineering and logistics support analysis

Desirable:

Experience in the use of Opus10 (or similar systems such as VMetric or Optilog)
Understanding of Integrated Logistics Support
Knowledge of NATO codification
