Hardware Technician

As a Hardware Technician, you will be a part of a small dedicated team that provides support to the design and verification of digital &/or analogue electronic solutions for products such as Helmet Mounted & Head-Up Displays, Mission Computers, Flight Controls, Active Inceptors and other associated safety-critical technology.

This role will provide you with the opportunity to work with leading, innovating cutting edge projects with a very experienced diverse team with the view to progress your career in this industry.

Your main responsibilities as a Hardware Technician will involve:

Providing technical support during the development and delivery of all aspects of digital &/or analogue designs from requirements development, concept and detailed design, through to product certification

Managing own tasks within given schedules and budgets to meet programme needs

Supporting the delivery of design artefacts in accordance with of company standards

Your skills and qualifications as a Hardware Technician:

Essential:

Awareness and basic understanding of digital &/or analogue electronics technologies; design tools and techniques, electronic circuits design, schematic capture, design analysis, design documentation, commissioning and integration

Able to work in small or large teams through the engineering development lifecycle with regular supervision/ guidance

Awareness of cost and schedule management

Desirable:

Practical electronics skills, eg. circuit card assembly, soldering, wiring, etc.

Awareness of component obsolescence management

Familiarisation with the Mentor Graphics Expedition Enterprise toolset

Ideally have achieved HNC/HND in electronics engineering or equivalent qualification
