Flight Operations Assistant (Fixed Term Contract for 6 months)
Would you like to join our internal airline service which has recently expanded to include freight? We currently have a 6 month position available for a Flight Operations Assistant at our site in Warton. The role will involve working shift patterns, possibly including weekends.
As a Flight Operations Assistant, you will be responsible for the provision of air travel solutions in support of core business and worldwide executive charters on demand. You will be supervising the safe despatch and arrival of aircraft, flight planning, scheduling aircrew in accordance with Flight Time Limitations (FTL) requirements and provisioning charters when required.
This is a varied position which will enable you to work in a small, bespoke area within BAE Systems which is steadily growing.
Your main responsibilities as a Flight Operations Assistant will involve:
Coordinating the scheduling of aircraft and crew
Preparing all flight paperwork and aircraft load sheets in order to despatch each aircraft on time
Producing and disseminating flight related data, including on time performance information
Planning all Corporate Air Travel's fleet accordingly and liaising with Brussels when slot times need to be addressed
Ensuring the team maintain the highest standard of professionalism and adhere to the appropriate policies, including the FTL scheme
Updating Aerad airport information manuals and inputting flight data monitoring information
Your skills and qualifications as a Flight Operations Assistant:
Background in aviation/flight operations is essential
An understanding of CAA/EASA FTL scheme is essential
Ability to undertake interpretation of aviation weather reports/charts (METARS & TAF) is essential
IT literate
Experience of flight planning and flight planning software, ideally PPS
Experience of LEON is preferred
