Fire Incident Liaison Officer
Would you like to be responsible for ensuring fire safety across the submarine site? We currently have a vacancy for a Fire Incident Liaison Officer at our site in Barrow.
As a Fire Incident Liaison Officer, you will be be part of the Fire Safety team on the Barrow site, ensuring and advising on Fire Safety and compliance to legislation.
This role will enable to you gain a breadth of knowledge across various areas of the organisation and products, whilst providing an opportunity to develop Fire professional skills and experience in a high risk environment.
Your main responsibilities as a Fire Incident Liaison Officer will involve:
Responding to all fire and associated incidents across site, taking overall control of the situation and acting Officer in charge
Dynamically assessing any emergency situation and where necessary escalate from a local incident to an offsite incident, involving the First Attack Fire & Rescue Service and external fire authorities
Providing advice, support, coaching and governance of Fire regulations and legislation to support the build delivery organisation
Providing technical information, support and input into all risk assessments
Ensuring professional and accountable interface with all stakeholders including Boat Delivery Teams, Regulators, Contractors and Customers
Ensuring all applicable aspects of the Safety Health and Environment, Fire and Operational Plan is delivered to schedule across all submarine sites
Ensuring compliance with all applicable legislation, guidance and best practice
Your skills and qualifications:
Ability to provide technical support, governance and coaching in fire safety legislation
Previous experience of undertaking audits and risk assessments in high risk environments
Evidence in previous roles of driving safety culture and safety improvements
Previous experience of industry related Fire Safety would be desirable
Previous experience of working in a Manufacturing or Production environment is desirable
Working towards FPA Diploma in fire safety management or equivalent would be advantageous
