Fire Alarm Engineer
Would you like to support the maintenance of our fire alarm systems? We currently have a vacancy for a Fire Alarm Engineer at our site in Portsmouth Naval Base
This role will provide you with the chance to work across the whole Naval Base, working with BAE, MOD and Royal Navy personnel and buildings which will include industrial, military, office blocks and residential.
Your main responsibilities as a Fire Alarm Engineer:
Able to carry out planned and re-active maintenance tasks to various types of fire alarm systems and emergency lighting systems throughout Portsmouth Naval Base and associated outstations
Working to a work schedule the engineer will report directly to the Building Services Team Leader.
Your skills and qualifications:
Essential
Working experience with planned maintenance of fire detection systems and emergency lighting systems
Knowledge of basic servicing and installation (and commissioning where applicable) of various Fire Alarm systems (Gent, Protec and Advanced would be desirable)
Experience in general fire alarm servicing and maintenance, remedial work and where applicable, small installation works
Capable of analysing Risk Assessments / Method Statements
A full clean EU driving licence
Recognised electrical apprenticeship
Desirable
An understanding of Health and Safety at Work
Knowledge of BS5839
Electrical qualifications would be an advantage, e.g. City & Guilds
Awareness of 17th Ed IEE Regulations
