Facilities Engineer MISC
Would you like to work in one of our most complex and cutting edge sites where your position is critical in the running of future operations? We currently have a vacancy for a Facilities Engineer at our site in Broad Oak.
The Facilities Engineer for the Naval Ships Combat Systems (NSCS) Maritime Integration Support Centre (MISC) will be located at Portsdown Technology Park. The main purpose of this role is to ensure that the facility fabric & infrastructure is suitably maintained and able to support the activities being conducted within the facility. You will be providing support for the facilities maintenance activities including supervising co-ordinating contractor's work, providing initial diagnosis (first line)
and initial remedial action of building services failures working closely with the service provider to ensure resolution of faults.
This position will require you to be flexible as the role varies from day to day and will involve inclusion on a team rota to cover on-call.
This role will provide you with further opportunities within the wider BAE business and you will be fully supported in your development within Combat Systems.
Your main responsibilities as a Facilities Manager will involve:
Providing initial diagnosis and remedial action of building services failures and the subsequent reporting of failures to SLA facilities service provider
Issuing of building access cards and providing SHE Inductions
Supervising subcontractors undertaking work and accompany/assist them while on site ensuring works has been completed to a high standard.
Participating in Out of Hours Call out rota and Opening and Closing rota for the MISC Facility
Carrying out daily, weekly and monthly health and safety checks
Your skills and qualifications:
Mechanical or electrical engineering background
Good computer literacy (MS office & AutoCAD)
Experience in building services desirable
Experience of first line fault diagnosis & reporting preferred
Experience supervising contractors

Salary: £ 30,000 +
