Export Control Officer
Would you like to be part of a team that supports a range of programmes delivering the latest ships to the Royal Navy ? We currently have a vacancy for an Export Control Officer at our site in Glasgow.
From offshore patrol vessels through to Type 26 Global Combat Ship and QE Class aircraft carriers, the projects you'll be involved with are exciting and challenging and will form the backbone of the Royal Navy for decades to come.
As an Export Control Officer, you will be responsible for understanding, applying and implementing Export Control compliance obligations at business level as the subject matter expert (SME) supporting these exciting programmes.
This role will provide you with an opportunity to bring your existing export control knowledge to an established team and support the business as we move towards delivery of the projects. Your background could be from a range of industries, what's key is that you have experience in export controls and government policies surrounding Export Control.
Your main responsibilities as an Export Control Officer will involve:
Acting as export control subject matter expert (SME)
Providing advice and guidance to the business on export control
Export control licence management via the ECDB (database), plus oversight of ECDB
Process confirmations as required to ensure compliance with export control
Supporting the Investigations
Responsibility for continuous improvement (CI) of relevant aspects of export control
Your skills and qualifications:
Degree or equivalent business experience
Extensive experience of export control laws and regulations to business activities
Experience of conducting effective investigations and audits
Subject matter expert to support and advise on complex matters and give support to business managers
Thorough knowledge of Government policy and concerns relevant to import-export and export control

Location: Scotstoun
Salary: £32 000 depending on experience
