Export Compliance Officer

Would you like to provide assistance to the departments Commercial Managers by ensuring we remain compliant with export controls/ITAR licence requirements related to our bid and contract management activities for defence equipment and associated commercial agreements? We currently have a vacancy for an Export Compliance Officer at our site in Barrow-In-Furness.

As an Export Compliance Officer, you will be supporting the lead Export Compliance Officer for all aspects of export control and compliance for all programmes and projects across the WSUK business, including both UK Export Control Regulations and the US ITAR controls.

This role will offer involvement on multi platforms and be a great way to develop export knowledge and work alongside the commercial team.

Your main responsibilities as an Export Compliance Officer will involve:

Ensuring that export licence considerations are taken into account for enquiries, offers and contracts and that they are managed within the commercial review process

Preparing export licence and associated documentation and ensuring they are kept up to date and files are maintained

Advising the IPT's & project teams on matters relating to export controls and where required commercial conditions and procedures

Ensuring co-operation with the Programmes and Procurement functions, that correctly completed export control documentation is in place, including liaison with Supply Chain to ensure appropriate flow down of export controls to suppliers

Assisting where required in the administration of contracts to ensure timeliness/conformance to contract, attending progress meetings and making variations/amendments to export control documents

Maintaining export control records, supporting audit of such documents and ensuring that export control and ITAR obligations are appropriately managed

Liaising as required with UK and Export Control Authorities

Your skills and qualifications as an Export Compliance Officer will ideally include:

Educated to GCSE level

Working knowledge and experience of using micro soft office PC packages

Experience in a similar role with ability to work to and consistently meet deadlines

Knowledge and experience of export control and ITAR desirable

You will have an aptitude for dealing with a number of tasks at one time. You should be able to work as part of a team and to maintain/develop relationships with external and internal customers.

Some UK and Overseas travel to support customer programmes should be anticipated

Salary: £36 299+
