ETF Assistant

We currently have a vacancy for an ETF Assistant based at our site in Bishopton.

As an ETF Assistant, you will be working alongside the ETF Technicians in the completion of testing on munitions from single rounds to missile systems as well as for the Oil, Space and Ships industries.

This role will provide you with the opportunity to work in a role where no two days the same, you will be working with a variety of tasks, this will also give you the opportunity to work towards the Technician role.

Your main responsibilities as an ETF Assistant will involve:
· Continuous improvement of activities within direct control
· Responsibility to assist the conduct of specific environmental trial programmes.
· Assist Engineers & Technicians with general duties relating to dynamic testing. Including test fixturing, accelerometer use, instrumentation, vibration/shock testing & building preparation.
· Assist Engineers & Technicians with general duties relating to practical application of climatic testing including temperature, humidity, altitude and mechanical refrigeration.
· Provide assistance in use of vibration & shock test fixtures. Ability to find and deliver to required building in preparation / completion of trials testing.
· Responsible for preparation, clean up & general housekeeping duties for all ETF buildings.
· Returning building to standard by returning tools, instrumentation & all other hardware to relevant location in preparation for next test.
· General forklift duties moving assets, rigs / fixtures to desired location requested by the Engineers / Technicians. As well as loading and unloading deliveries on site.
· Compliance with the requirements of SHE legislation for self and others.
· Work to written procedures as defined in the Trials History Logs and Authorised Control Procedures.

Your skills and qualifications:

· ONC/ NC level qualification
· Understanding of engineering disciplines
· Demonstrates understanding of the requirements of technical specifications.
· Understands of the requirements of a quality system meeting the requirements of ISO 9001 and ISO 17025
· PC literate and able to use Microsoft Office applications
· Ability to follow RISK/ COSHH /MHS assessments.
· Understands of the requirements of a Safety, Health & Environment system meeting the requirements of ISO 14001, 18001 and 50001
· Fork Lift Truck Licence would be advantageous
· Competent in slinging and lifting

Salary: £18953+ depending on skills and experience
