Equipment Support Engineer

We are currently looking to recruit an Equipment Support Engineer to work within the In Service Support Integrated delivery team in Telford.

You will form part of a multi-disciplinary team providing thorough Life Support to Land Systems armoured vehicle platforms via membership of the In-Service Support (ISS) Integrated Delivery Team. Equipment Support Engineers are responsible for carrying out supportability tasks for a range of vehicles, systems and equipment.

Your main responsibilities as an Equipment Support Engineer will involve:

· Identification and development of any new or modified Support & Test Equipment (S&TE).
· Writing in-depth engineering appraisals and reports, and writing engineering procedures in a precise and logical manner.
· Providing supportability advice to other engineering and other functional departments.
· Working with other engineering departments to conduct trials and proof fits.
· Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) data validation and Technical Publications verification.
· Responsible and accountable for the population of Logistic Support databases where they exist.
· The evaluation of design and supplier data, and the production of support related data and reports.
· Liaison with customer representatives to elicit requirements or provide feedback.
· Working with the Training capability to develop/inform training impact statements/cases.
· Working with our Support Engineers to develop and inform equipment supportability impact statements and cases.

Your skills and qualifications:

· Formal engineering training (HNC equivalent or greater) and or recognised logistic support training.
· Experience and knowledge of the Ministry of Defence (MoD) supply chain and logitics systems
· Have a working knowledge of a business system such as SAP and Product Data Management system such as TeamCenter
· Have an awareness of the security implications for technical material
· Be able to demonstrate commercial awareness.
· Role will be working with military vehicles and their support solutions and prior knowledge of how this is currently achieved would be an advantage
· A good working knowledge of MS Office preferably including MS Project
· Be able to exhibit good Health & Safety awareness

· Be self-motivated and be able to work with the minimum of supervision in a team environment to achieve completion of task milestones within defined budgets.

Location: Telford

Salary: £32500 + commensurate with skills and experience
