Environmental Sustainability Advisor

We currently have a vacancy for a SHE ( Safety, Health & Environment) Advisor – Environmental Sustainability at our site in Scotstoun

As a Environmental Sustainability Advisor, you will be providing ES (Environmental Sustainability) support and advice to the business to enable the effective implementation of the SHE management system. You will also promote awareness and understanding of environmental sustainability and its associated risks and opportunities across Naval Ships.

This role is key to implementing and evaluating management controls and review processes to enable the businesses and its management to operate to the highest standards and to ensure compliance with all appropriate legislation. This role would be suitable for a new qualified candidate or if you are looking to develop your career in Environmental Sustainability

Your main responsibilities as a Environmental Sustainability Advisor will involve:

Supporting the development of the SHE Management systems by the effective implementation of processes and procedures

Providing management information as appropriate for both internal and external use

Providing information, education, training, support and guidance to the business in order to improve environmental sustainability performance

Providing practical advice and guidance to the organisation on the development and maintenance of systems and methodology to mitigate environmental risks and identify opportunities

Supporting the delivery of Naval Ships environmental strategy

Interfacing with environmental authorities and collation, coordination and return of robust information/data to regulatory authorities, compliance schemes and corporate to support legal compliance

Your skills and qualifications as a Environmental Sustainability Advisor:

Technical and Professional Environmental and Sustainability knowledge is essential

Knowledge of ES Legislation including permitting process

Knowledge of SHE Management Systems and assurance processes

Degree qualified in environmental related subject or relevant experience

Associate member of IEMA (Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment- professional body) desirable
