Enterprise Architect
Would you like to work within the Enterprise IT Services (EITS) Architecture Group to define robust and cost effective solution architectures and designs to meet the business objectives and requirements of the customer? We currently have a vacancy for an Enterprise Architect based in either Farnborough or Preston (Channel Way).
As an Enterprise Architect, you will be responsible for establishing the architecture governance framework and delivery of technology strategies, technology roadmaps, architectural standards, design patterns, design reviews, and furthering strategic vendor relationships within shared services.
You will specify, design and assure information systems that support core organisational functions within shared services business
Your main responsibilities as an Enterprise Architect will involve:
For shared services:
Engaging with the business and other stakeholders to ensure alignment of IM&T architecture and solutions with the business strategy and objectives
Capturing the as-is business, application, data and technology architectures for the business
Defining the future state architecture business, application, data and technology architectures for the business in line with the business strategy and objectives
Defining the IM&T roadmap for the shared services business, along with domain architects
Working within Shared Services transformation team to provide expert domain knowledge and skills in enterprise architecture
Providing IM&T subject matter expertise to the business and collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders to share domain knowledge and best practice, driving organisational capability development in this area
Accountable to the Head of Strategy and Architect for the overall functional and technical design and assurance of fit for purpose solution for shared services business systems:
Defining IM&T Architecture and designing the project to meet business requirements, within the project constraints of cost and timescale, and the agreed architectural and technical framework
Providing technical leadership of the solution team, ensuring that the solution architecture and design are communicated effectively
Liaising with the product suppliers, COTS component vendors and sub-contract development teams
Ensuring consistency and integrity of the solution implementation through overseeing the solution development process, and production of development work products
Providing design management and governance through the operation of change and configuration management activities
Working effectively with the Project Managers to support the development of the project plan, through assisting with the compilation and review of estimates and schedules, and identification of risks
Your skills and qualifications as an Enterprise Architect will ideally include:
Proven knowledge and experience of working within architecture frameworks, eg TOGAF, MODAF or Zachman
Knowledge of developing strategic systems architecture plans and roadmaps
Hands-on experience with business requirements gathering/analysis
Architecture and technical support documentation skills is desirable
