Application Support Engineer
Would you like to work in an exciting customer facing environment working within the defence sector? We currently have a vacancy for an Application Support Engineer at our site in Warton.
As an Application Support Engineer, you will be providing a professional and pro-active support service is delivered to the Military Air & Information (MA&I) engineering community to allow them to fully optimise the integrated suite of IT systems and processes in use on the range of programmes.
The role offers you the opportunity to benefit from career development with the nature of this diverse role. You will have the potential to gain exposure to many areas of the BAE Systems business, including working relationships with many areas of the MA&I engineering business, both internal and external to BAE Systems, together with the opportunity for exposure across the full software development lifecycle.
Your main responsibilities as an Application Support Engineer will involve:
Delivering a professional end user fault resolution service (both via the 5858 fault management method and via ad-hoc queries)
Providing a professional data management service across the IPT's
Distributing topical advice and support to end users to clarify and enforce defined processes
Carrying out ad-hoc process and toolset training as required by the business
Support Certification of new capability (both process and toolset) to be deployed onto the programme
Prompt communication of common problems and resolutions, and other IT and process related information across the programme
Your skills and qualifications:
Essential
Advanced MS office suite skills
Knowledge of Engineering Process
Knowledge of PDM/PLM applications, customisation and configuration
Desirable
Certification in ITIL Foundation
Experience with web-based applications
Knowledge of Team Centre
Appreciation of the Typhoon Engineering Lifecycle

Salary: £34,274 + per annum
