Engineer – Electrical (SIF)
Would you like to play an integral part in a new diverse team within the shore integration facility? We currently have a vacancy for an Engineer – Electrical (SIF) at our site in Barrow-in-Furness.
As an Engineer – Electrical (SIF), you will be part of the team that are responsible for the test, acceptance, and delivery of key electronic communications and control software packages into the build programme, and is a critical part of the delivery of an advance submarine platform.
This role will provide you with the opportunity for technical development in areas such as IP Networking, Information Assurance, Wireless Radio technology, and Software Development as well as career development.
Your main responsibilities as an Engineer – Electrical (SIF) will involve:
Contributing to the SIF infrastructure designing and installation
Developing of strategies and documentation to support the hardware and software testing programmes
Testing and acceptance of hardware and software in line with the submarine build programme
Reporting to the SIF Project Leader and SIF Engineering Manager
Developing in areas such as IP Networking, Information Assurance, and Wireless Radio technology
Supporting progress reviews, design reviews and quality audits
Your skills and qualifications as an Engineer – Electrical (SIF) :
Essential:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline (e.g. Electrical/Electronic Engineering, IT/Networking/Computer Science, or Communications Systems)
Desirable:
Understanding or experience of working in an engineering integration and test environment
Experience of technical report writing
Good general IT knowledge
