Learning & Technology Lead

Would you like to be part of the start of an exciting transformation journey, focusing on modernising delivery and seeking new and innovative ways to deliver service excellence to our business customers? We currently have a vacancy for a Learning & Technology Lead at our site in Portway House, Preston.

As a Learning & Technology Lead, you will be you will be helping to lead on the modernization of our programme delivery through embedding the use of existing and new learning technology, facilitating the sharing of best practice and developing innovative practice amongst our staff.

A core part of this will be taking the lead on the implementation and embedding of a virtual learning environment, the development of learning content and resources, and the delivery of staff training

This role will provide you with the opportunity to be part of the team that works out of BAE System's multi-million pound Academy for Skills and Knowledge to deliver Advanced, Higher and Degree Apprenticeships. We invest £90m into our Early Careers and Skills Programmes annually, with 2,000 Apprentice learners currently in the UK.

Your main responsibilities as a Learning & Technology Lead will involve:

Playing a key role in supporting the implementation of a new learning platform and Management Information System

Supporting existing learning related systems, alongside wider project activities as a key part of the Early Careers and Skills Transformation team

Leading on continuing to develop staff and resources to ensure continuous progressive use of learning and technology throughout our Early Careers programmes

Ongoing user management of the virtual learning environment

Working with key internal and external partners to ensure platform capability can be fully exploited by all partners

Identifying and facilitating learning content creation opportunities. They will facilitate and coordinate the creation of blended learning resources by existing staff, and external partners. Where opportunity arises the post-holder will also develop content themselves

Developing and delivering internal resources and training sessions- both remote and face to face, and help drive the continuous professional development of our delivery staff across Early Careers and Skills, with the key focus of this work will be the best use of current and future learning technology and support systems to enhance and embed innovation in delivery

Supporting the modernisation of curriculum activity to ensure high quality output to business needs

Leading the continued development and creation of Lead User Groups and system champions, to ensure the continued supported local uptake and best practice use of our systems

Your skills and qualifications as a Learning & Technology Lead:

Essential:

Educated to Degree level or equivalent in a Learning and/ or Technology related subject

Experience of working with a Virtual Learning Environment/LMS/learning platform to host content

Experience of developing and creating course content, or specific teaching, learning or training resources in either an education or business setting

Ability to lead on the effective and best usage of systems

Experience of training users of systems or technologies to get the best from the resources available to them to enhance their work

Have an understanding of blended learning approaches with the ability to support the Early Careers and Skills Learning and Technology Manager in the embedding of these across the Early Careers operation

Desirable:

Experience of developing eLearning programmes/ enhancing course delivery through a range of blended approaches

Experience of working in learning/training and development projects

You must have the ability to engage others and communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders. You should also have the proven ability to work with a range of audiences and be confident in delivering and presenting to them in a range of settings. You will be able to be adaptable and explore a range of solutions in a complex environment.

Location: Portway House, Preston

Salary: £36 000+
