Diving & Maritime Operations Coordinator

We currently have a vacancy for a Diving & Maritime Operations Coordinator at our site in Portsmouth Naval Base.

As a Diving & Maritime Operations Co-ordinator working within the Surveys & Inspections department and in the Diving & Maritime team, you will be responsible for ensuring that all Diving Operations follow the approved procedures and Safety Management System for diving in HM Naval Base Portsmouth. Additionally, you will provide sub-contractual engagement support to the Fleet Services sub-contracts co-ordinators.

You will also provide operational support to the Naval Base Services Diving & Maritime Manager and be a single point of contact for diving safety enquiries & requirements and to oversee Diving operations.

Your main responsibilities as a Diving & Maritime Operations Coordinator will involve:

Engaging with sub-contractors as required, pre and post diving operations

Enforcing and ensuring compliance with all company SHE and quality requirements

Briefing, informing and updating customers, highlighting potential problem areas or concerns

Working closely with the relevant Team Leader sub contract co-ordinators; to provide a single point of contact for their diving related inquires

Carrying out SHE diving spot checks/audits and diving safety inductions

Reviewing dive plans

To develop a medium to long term in-house diving capability strategy.

Your skills and qualifications as a Diving & Maritime Operations Coordinator:

Robust knowledge of the Diving at Works Regulations and associated ACOP's is essential

ADC Approved Dive Supervisor (desirable but not essential)

Experience in reviewing of dive plans

Experience in sub-contractor engagement

Surface supplied HSE approved diving qualification is essential

Experience of planning and managing high risk operations

IOSH / NEBOSH certification

Good knowledge of ERP systems
