Design Engineer

Would you like to work on wide and varied number of Design activities throughout the product lifecycle, from preparation of bid solution and estimate proposals, requirements capture, concept design definition, detail design and manufacturing support through to in-service liaison and support to Customer? We currently have a vacancy for a Design Engineer at our site in Brough.

As a Design Engineer, you will work within the Design Support Group to cover a multitude of tasks including but not limited to, providing support to the Design Team in terms of vendor part call up and process specification usage, vendor and supplier liaison, configuration control of part data, change management and creation/ up issuing of Design Standards.

This role will provide you with the opportunity to progress within the Design Support Group to become a specialist or Group Leader or to move into the wider Design Team should the opportunity/ need arise

Your main responsibilities as a Design Enginer will involve:

Supporting to the introduction of a new Design product definition system, uploading/ checking of data in the new system, Review of system changes and supporting role out to the wider Design team

Processing/ issuing of Design department data including, Concessions, Change requests and documentation

Supporting the Design Standards team of Review of documentation, interpretation of specifications
And loading of data to the catalogue

Support to the Design Quality team in reaction/ amendment of policies and procedures and processing creation of statistical data

Loading of change data to the product definition system and supporting to the wider Design team

Your skills and qualifications as a Design Engineer

Ability to interpret design drawings, engineering data and process specifications ESSENTIAL

Demonstrate application of creativity and innovative thought process ESSENTIAL

Working knowledge of DPDS and BAE SYSTEMS manufacturing process specifications would be beneficial DESIRABLE

Demonstrate ability to solve problems by effective examination and analysis of information and selection of optimized solutions DESIRABLE

You will have good oral communication skills in order to exchange factual information, respond to queries and provide explanation of technical work undertaken. You will also have excellent written communications to produce reports, specifications and processes. You will have demonstration of good interpersonal and working as part of a team

Salary: From £32,032.00+
