Data Transfer System Technical Authority
Would you like to provide technical direction of the development, integration, maintenance and documentation of the Data Transfer System (DTS) area? We currently have a vacancy for a Data Transfer System Technical Authority at our site in Broad Oak.
As a Data Transfer System Technical Authority, you will be responsible for carrying out tasks in accordance with the appropriate Product and Capability (PaC) group and project lifecycle documents.
This role will provide you with an opportunity to work with a product that is an integral part of a warship's combat/mission system and gain vast exposure to our projects and platforms where the product is delivered.
Your main responsibilities as a Data Transfer System Technical Authority will involve:
Act as a focal point to the Projects and Product teams for all Technical Issues relating to the DTS area.
To provide technical direction to the team on all aspects of software design.
Approval of requirements.
Review all design and coding outputs produced by the team
Early review of Observation Reports(ORs)/Support Calls raised on the DTS area to provide Projects with a view of criticality/risk
To identify technical issues that may affect other product areas to the PaC Chief Technical Authority in a timely manner
To lead technical investigations or studies as directed
To implement/maintain the code as stated either within the design documents, or within specified ORs and to identify ORs for inconsistencies found within the design
To recommend to the PaC DTS/Strategic Tools SDA the degree of regression testing required for various code or build changes
Support the preparation of estimates and material for bids
Your skills and qualifications:
Ability to operate in a large, complex multi-project environment
Possesses in-depth knowledge in some/all of the following SW development toolsets/ technologies :
VxWorks OS
Linux OS
Windows OS
Virtual Machines/Shared Infrastructure
Networking
C++
SAINTT/CSE simulation tools
Knowledge of the following software engineering disciplines :
Requirements Analysis
Software Design
Software Coding
Software Testing
Software Integration
Desirable :
Knowledge of Naval Combat System Data Highway Systems (desirable)
Knowledge of CMS-1 Product (desirable)
