Counsel - Labour Law
Are you an employment lawyer looking to move to an in-house role? We currently have a vacancy for an employment lawyer to join our established Labour Law team at our site in Farnborough.
As Counsel - Labour Law, you will provide practical, commercial employment law support to a number of our businesses, including advising on issues both within the UK and internationally.
You will be responsible for building strong and trusted stakeholder relationships to ensure that you are able to provide effective advice around managing employment legal risk.
Your main responsibilities as a Counsel - Labour Law will involve:
Providing in depth, professional and pro-active employment law support to nominated businesses, with exposure to cross border legal matters
Providing training on matters of law and policy to various functional and business areas
Assisting in the efficient use of external counsel
Assisting in ensuring compliance with BAE Systems policies and procedures
Your skills and qualifications as a Counsel - Labour Law:
Qualified solicitor or barrister at either a leading law firm/appropriate in-house with experience as a specialist employment lawyer
In-house experience required (either through a prior in-house role or a secondment)
Good negotiation, communication (written and oral), influencing and drafting skills
Good people and resource management skills
Understanding of and/or willingness to learn about cross border and non-UK employment law issues

You will be able to quickly build relationships and work collaboratively, both with our team and also the businesses you are supporting. You will be happy to travel within the UK relatively frequently in order to visit the businesses you support and develop relationships with your colleagues.
