Configuration Engineer
Would you like to support change management on Type 45 Destroyer which is one of the most advanced warships in the world proudly supporting the Royal Navy Fleet whilst out in operation on the seas? We currently have a vacancy for a Configuration Engineer at our site in Portsmouth.
As a part of the configuration management team you will ensure that the data/information produced by the design team is accurately stored and passed on to the COM and engineering teams.
This role will give you the opportunity to develop you skills and knowledge working on the most advanced warships in the world and progress further within the company.
Your main responsibilities as a Configuration Engineer will involve:
Validating and maintaining the engineering deliverables from Design Services for all In-Service Type 45 platforms
Identifying and monitoring the configuration status of engineering information
Producing and maintaining a rolling schedule detailing the item to be delivered by Design Services to the T45 COM as a result of engineering changes
Creating parts records within IFS and Windchill for all In-Service Type 45 platforms
Collecting and collating software configuration records, updating and maintaining the Type 45 Software Register for all In-Service Type 45 platforms
Maintaining and updating process documentation for the above tasks
Providing training and support for Windchill to the T45 COM
Your skills and qualifications:
Essential:
Knowledge of change management principles in an engineering environment
Experience of creating and updating a rolling schedule reflecting delivery of information from other departments
General familiarity with Microsoft Office package
Desirable:
Ability to identify and productively challenge poor information and seek corrective action
Understanding of the IT systems and applications used to design, build and support the Type 45 Destroyer including SDE, Windchill, TEIP and IFS
