Communications Associate
We currently have a vacancy for a Communications Associate to be based at our site in Preston.
As a Communications Associate, you will work as part of the Shared Services Communications team to deliver a proactive programme of communications activities for all areas of the business.
This role will support all internally and externally focused communications campaigns by contributing towards the construction and delivery of appropriate messaging.
This role provides a diverse communications remit and you will need to have strong writing and project management skills.
Your main responsibilities as a Communications Associate will involve:
Supporting the development and delivery of all company messaging using appropriate engagement techniques
Building and maintaining relationships with business stakeholders, target audiences, third party individuals and other departments to ensure effective delivery of communications
Supporting line managers to engage effectively with their teams
Supporting the development of internal communications channels using internal and external benchmarking to consistently drive best practice
Taking responsibility for the content ownership of relevant sections of the Shared Services intranet and support the roll-out of any channel development activity relating to this medium
Supporting Community Investment activities across Shared Services
Responsible for identification and development of content for the Communications element of the Shared Services intranet i.e. news stories, people stories, spotlights etc
Supporting the development and delivery of communication plans for Shared Services projects i.e. SHE campaigns, change programmes etc
Supporting to the Shared Services Leadership Conference and Employee Engagement events
Support key external projects by developing collateral such as press releases, community newsletters, lines to take etc.

Your skills and qualifications as a Communications Associate:
Essential:
Experience of working in an Internal Communications position
Good knowledge of Digital Media
Experience of working with external agencies
Strong IT Skills – including Microsoft, Dreamweaver and Photoshop
Strong writing skills
Desirable:
Experience of working in an External Communication position
Experience of working for a large corporate company
Experience in the defence/ engineering industry

You will have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and will be able to effectively present ideas and new ways of working to key stakeholders across the business
Salary: Circa £30,000 commensurate with experience
Location: Preston
