Caulker

Would you like to be working on products concerning national security? We currently have a vacancy for a Caulker at our site in Barrow-in-Furness.

As a Caulker, you will be working on new equipment and machinery which is brought into the area to update the existing infrastructure.

This role will give you a varied work day as you will be working on new improvement process and development currently in place to reduce cost/timescales without compromising quality.

Your main responsibilities as a Caulker will involve:

Working closely with the welding an quality teams to ensure that their work meets current quality standards on a daily basis

Gauging the circumferential butts of the submarine, this would also include hatches, water tight doors, air locks etc

Burning off lifting eyes

Your skills and qualifications as a Caulker:

You are a time served Caulker

Proficient in grinding to a very high quality mirror finish

Knowledge or experience within a ship building background would be advantageous

What we're looking for in you:

You have good communication skills both written and spoken. Experienced with interacting with other team members across the business. You are also able to work at heights and confined spaces.

This role entails shift work, which you are required to take part in.

Salary: £27,460+
