Cargo Operations Assistant

Would you like to support the BAE Systems Corporate Air Travel- Cargo Operations Department provide services used by customers in the air, land and sea sectors? We currently have a vacancy for a Cargo Operations Assistant at our site in Warton.

As a Cargo Operations Assistant, you will provide support to the cargo department ensuring all cargo carried on Corporate Air Travel aircraft along with any visiting aircraft, is done safely and in accordance with departmental procedures and current industry regulations.

This role will provide you with diverse daily activities with the chance to work with a range of stakeholders.

Your main responsibilities as a Cargo Operations Assistant will involve:

Ensuring safety is the number one priority

Loading preparation

Liaising with destination airfields, and in country handlers (e.g. Taif)

Sending updated manifests and load plans

Production of Load Information Reports in accordance with weight and balance of the aircraft

Being responsible for all cargo documentation; including manifests, dangerous goods acceptance paperwork, the creation of consignment security declaration and driver security checks

Participating in the departmental self-audit program in relation to the acceptance process of Dangerous Goods by Air and Regulated Agent verification

Liaising with International Trade Solutions (ITS) regarding the manifest and advising on acceptable volumes and any cargo issues associated with heavy loads or oversized items

Your skills and qualifications as a Cargo Operations Assistant:

Essential:

Previous experience loading, and build of unit devices (aircraft pallet)

Experience loading aircraft

Desirable:

Able to use computers/ Microsoft

Knowledge of air side driving
