Bid Writer - Proposal Professional

Would you like to have the opportunity to work on various high value bids and proposals? We currently have a vacancy for a Bid Writer - Proposal Professional at our site in Portsmouth.

As a Bid Writer - Proposal Professional, you will be responsible for providing the bid writing capabilities, in support of winning campaigns. In addition, you will also act as Proposal Professional for smaller/less complex captures.

This role will provide you with the chance to develop customer focussed compelling proposals, in support of the bid team through compiling, writing and editing detailed descriptions of the technical offering. You will also be able to support the storyboard sessions with the Proposal Manager and SMEs to illicit information and plan responses.

Your main responsibilities as a Bid Writer - Proposal Professional will involve:

Leading the effort in drafting documents for proposal production steps: capture planning, storyboarding, book planning, pink team, drafting, red team review and proof-reading

Assisting the Proposal Manager in developing a proposal structure that is customer focused and meets the RFP requirements

Working with the bid teams to understand the areas of the proposal that will need writing support; undertaking the writing activity for some sections, whilst advising or editing other sections

Delivering completed written proposal responses to the Proposal Manager against agreed RFP deadlines, escalating issues as required

Re-writing / editing proposal responses from a variety of stakeholders, typically involving contributions from sales, marketing, technical / product teams, finance, commercial, legal and delivery

Identifying, capturing and interpreting verbal information from Subject Matter Experts and turn into synthesised proposal copy

Your skills and qualifications as a Bid Writer - Proposal Professional:

Comprehensive knowledge of bid/proposal techniques and best practice

Proven experience in producing and editing written content, within a complex technical business environment where time, quality, cost and commercial sensitivity are driving factors

Experience of drafting documents for proposal production steps: capture planning, storyboarding, book planning, and proof-reading

Experience of managing the tender documentation and having to ensure quality of text and formatting consistently through reviews, final proofs, content sign off and document production

You will have an understanding of working within potentially high stress environments and be able to manage and adapt, as required.
