Bid Writer
Would you like the opportunity to work right across the land business? We currently have a vacancy for a Bid Writer, in our Land(UK) business.
As a Bid Writer, you will be responsible for providing a bid writing capability in support of winning campaigns. In addition, you may also act as Proposal Manager, for smaller/less complex captures.
This role will provide you with the exposure to develop customer focussed compelling proposals in support of the bid team through compiling, writing and editing detailed descriptions of the technical offering.
Your main responsibilities as a Bid Writer will involve:
Leading storyboard sessions with bid / proposal team members and key stakeholders
Assisting the Proposal Manager in developing a proposal structure that is customer focused and meets the RFP requirements
Proactively developing and managing a network of subject matter experts
Coaching capture teams and subject matter experts in best practice writing techniques
Assisting the Proposal Manager in developing a proposal structure that is customer focused and meets the RFP requirements
Working with the bid teams to understand the areas of the proposal that will need writing support; undertaking the writing activity for some sections, whilst advising or editing other sections
Delivering completed written proposal responses to the Proposal Manager against agreed RFP deadlines, escalating issues as required
Re-writing / editing proposal responses from a variety of stakeholders, typically involving contributions from sales, marketing, technical / product teams, finance, commercial, legal and delivery
Identifying, capturing and interpreting verbal information from Subject Matter Experts and turn into synthesised proposal copy
Assisting in analysing RFQ against proposal outline to ensure both compliance and responsiveness to customers
Undertaking final quality check of proposal writing; checking for customer focus, ensuring it answers the question and is articulated. Subsequently provides feedback and recommends required changes to proposal content
Supporting the development and co-ordination of support documentation such as elevator briefs, orals presentations on behalf of the Capture team
Leading the effort in drafting documents for proposal production steps: capture planning, storyboarding, book planning, pink team, drafting, red team review and proof-reading
Your skills and qualifications as a Bid Writer :
Previous experience of a similar Bid Writing role
Previous experience of delivering high quality, high impact, winning documents within tight deadlines
Experience in the application of Business Winning processes, policies, tools and approvals including use of gate reviews
Excellent written and organizational skills
Excellent MS Word skills and proficiency in MS Office
Qualification/Degree within English, communication or other related field
Proven skills in producing and editing written content, within a complex technical business environment, where time, quality, cost and commercial sensitivity are driving factors
APMP Desirable
