Aviation Safety & Compliance Officer
Would you like to play a key role ensuring safety and compliance within BAE Systems corporate air travel? We currently have a vacancy for an Aviation Safety & Compliance Officer at our site in Warton.
As an Aviation Safety & Compliance Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with the various safety regulations of aviation authorities, such as the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA). You will have direct responsibility for the safety management system, as well as various hazard identification and prevention activities.
This role will give you the chance to work with a unique airline operation with exposure to the whole process. You will have the opportunity to develop your skills, whilst bringing ideas and influencing a growing area of the business.
Occasional UK and international travel will be required as part of this role.
Your main responsibilities as an Aviation Safety & Compliance Officer will involve:
Leading the promotion of the organisations Safety Management System through the facilitation of the hazard identification and management processes
Carrying out compliance monitoring and assurance activities across the organisations approvals (EASA Air Ops, EASA Part 145 and EASA Part M)
Supporting the Heads of Department in providing regulatory advice and support in their areas of responsibility
Supporting the Head of Safety & Compliance in conducting investigations and follow up of safety and occurrence reports under the internal reporting and Mandatory Occurrence Reporting (MOR) schemes
Liaising with the regulatory authorities and third party organisations as required
Your skills and qualifications as an Aviation Safety & Compliance Officer:
Essential:
Hold a recognised internal auditor qualification in the area of aircraft operations or maintenance e.g. IRCA, CAA, Baines Simmons
Proven aviation safety and quality experience gained in a commercial airline environment
Sound knowledge of safety management, hazard identification and mitigation systems and processes
Desirable:
Have a good knowledge of EASA regulations
Completed a recognised course on management of safety and quality or equivalent
Possession of an aircraft maintenance engineers licence, flight crew licence or ground operations qualification

You will have the ability to communicate clearly at all levels with both internal and external stakeholders. You must also possess strong problem solving abilities, with a flexible and adaptable attitude.
Salary: £34,300+ commensurate with skills and experience
