Air Traffic Control (ATC) Simulator Support Specialist / Pilot Control Unit (PCU) Operator

JOB PURPOSE
Function as a Simulator Support Specialist / Pilot Control Unit (PCU) Operator; assisting to provide a realistic simulation of ATC Operations as required
JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES
Job accountability includes routinely operating as a Simulator Support Specialist / ATC PCU Operator in the provision of the realistic simulation of ATC Operations in the 2D / 3D Visual Tower, Radar Approach and Non Radar Approach Control Simulators.
Assist in the instruction of cadets on simulator equipment as well as being actively involved in departmental communication with regard to the development, implementation and amendment of simulator exercises.
Assist in the preparation and testing of skills training devices, quizzes, examinations and teaching aid as well as assist in the instruction of cadets on R/T phraseology and assist with the production of Student Study Guides.
Use the TMIS / LMS system to maintain accurate, up to date, comprehensive, orderly and easily accessible training records.
Contribute to preparation of timetables, scheduling and allocation of instructors and Simulator Support Specialist / ATC PCU Operators.
Contribute to the acquisition, allocation, maintenance and use of training resources including textbooks, workbooks, classrooms, laboratories, training devices, and consumables.
Provide an environment that encourages independent learning and a military ethos as well as provide feedback to management to improve service performance and responsiveness and identify opportunities.
Job accountabilities also include ensuring compliance with SHE policy and processes and Duty of Care responsibilities.
The job holder would be expected to undertake all mandatory and developmental training as required by the Company as well as adhering to acceptable standards of behaviour, dress and performance as defined in Company policy.
Any other duties as deemed reasonable and appropriate by the Company.
RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION
The Principal ATC Instructor tasks the Job Holder, approves their work and reviews their performance. The Job Holder is to operate on their own initiative and demonstrate innovative and bold behaviours to achieve the job purpose.
The Job Holder is to prepare written reports and other documents as required by the job accountabilities and in accordance with Academic Wing and Departmental policies.
The Job Holder is to gather statistical data for use in the TMIS / LMS system and for report preparation regarding individual cadet performances, simulator performance, resource usage and other matters as required.
The Job Holder is to comply with SHE policy and procedures regarding the workplace, ensuring duty of care is exercised, accident and incident reporting is in place, and undertake appropriate training
The Job Holder can make decisions regarding each of their job accountabilities under supervision of the Principal ATC Instructor.
The Job Holder undertakes planning and organising to achieve their accountabilities, particularly regarding Air Traffic Control departmental and simulator activities
Extensive experience is a recruitment specification as an Air Traffic Control (ATC) Simulator Support Specialist / Pilot Control Unit (PCU) operator in ATC training disciplines of 2D / 3D Visual Tower and Radar Approach Control Simulator operations.
Knowledge and experience of ATC Regulations, Procedures and Flight Deck Operations.
A recruitment specification also includes fluency in English to ICAO level 6 as well as having computer proficiency to ECDL or equivalent standard.
