Assistant Commercial Officer
We currently have a vacancy for an Assistant Commercial Officer at our site in Barrow.
As an Assistant Commercial Officer, you will be supporting the team in the administration of the subcontracts the team.
This role will provide you with the opportunity to join a major defence programme in the exciting transition stage from design into build, and enhance our ability to deliver these remarkably sophisticated submarines. The first of class Submarine is due to enter service in the early 2030's so there's a long programme of work ahead of us, with opportunities to develop yourself, whilst contributing to the success of a major programme.
Your main responsibilities as an Assistant Commercial Officer will involve:
Supporting bid teams in line with Life Cycle Management (LCM) and Request for Bid Approval (RBA) procedures
Preparing supply /commercial proposals and associated RBA packs
Contracting administration including maintaining contract configuration
Assisting with reviewing and drafting contract Terms and Conditions and supporting the provision of commercial advice
Developing and maintaining customer relationships both internally and externally
Undertaking departmental record keeping including recording and reporting on departmental Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and support the document control retention and disposal policy
Supporting in the preparation of agreements to meet business requirements using, when available, corporate standard formats e.g. confidentiality agreements
Understanding and acting in accordance with Legal and Corporate governance provisions including the operational framework
Your skills and qualifications as an Assistant Commercial Officer :
Well organised individual who has the ability to plan and prepare in advance for situations
A basic understanding of a Contract's Terms and Conditions and associated performance measures
Ability to interrogate commercial data and make conclusions and offer recommendations
Previous experience of working in a team to meet deadlines and targets
An understanding of the importance of developing relationships with Customers & Suppliers
Supply experience placing orders and contracts
Logical approach to problem solving
