Apprentice and Skills Development Coach
Would you like the opportunity to future proof the onsite training provision for apprentices and the re-skilling of mainstream employees? We currently have a vacancy for an Apprentice and Skills Development Coach at our site in Barrow-In-Furness.
As an Apprentice and Skills Development Coach, you will be designing, co-ordinating and evaluating training programmes. You will be carrying out the assessment of S/NVQ's in support of Apprenticeships against national and company standards.
This is an exciting time of change within the team and this role will provide you with the opportunity to influence the future of the business and to be part of the proposed £22m spend on a fit for purpose skills training academy at Barrow.
Your main responsibilities as an Apprentice and Skills Development Coach will involve:
Creating and implementing a learning environment
Developing activities to enable individuals to acquire skills and knowledge
Supervising individuals undergoing training and providing pastoral support in counselling, coaching and development of individuals
Delivering agreed learning programmes
Monitoring, controlling & assessing, evaluating and verifying competencies and learner performance against recognised standards and carry out quality audits
Implementing and contribute to continuous improvement activities to improve the quality of the programme
Responsibility for the completion of apprentices into final positions
Liaising with the Further Education provider in order to monitor learner performance and effectively maximise the link between classroom and workplace learning opportunities
Assisting in the recruitment and selection of Apprentices
Your skills and qualifications as an Apprentice and Skills Development Coach:
Skilled professional with occupational competence to a minimum of NVQ 3 or equivalent, including academic qualifications in one of the following:
- Time served Welder
- Time served Steelworker
- Time served Pipe Fabricator/Mechanical Fitter
- Time served Electrician

Relevant teacher training or assessor award qualification
Knowledge and understanding of Ofsted CIF requirements
Knowledge of apprentice programmes

You should have a passion for training and be able to inspire and motivate people through coaching and mentoring. You will be an excellent team player and be flexible and able to work under pressure in a demanding environment.
Salary: £30,750+
