Ancillary - Temporary Protection

Would you like to be working with products concerning national security? We currently have a vacancy for an Ancillary - Temporary Protection at our site in Barrow.

As an Ancillary - Temporary Protection, you will be working within the reactor areas.

The main focus of the position is to design and manufacture temporary protection to protect ships fit kit on board a submarine. This can cover anything from plastic covers or canvas covers.

This role could be based on a shift pattern of 4 on 4 off covering days, nights and backshift.

Your main responsibilities as an Ancillary - Temporary Protection will involve:

Attending tool box talks to run through work schedules, any company updates and health and safety challenges

Assessing of work that needs to be carried out

Measuring up work areas and equipment to provide appropriate solutions

Designing bespoke protection solutions

Manufacturing solutions using a range of materials including hard and soft plastics and canvas

Learn and use sewing machines

To implement and install the temporary protection solutions

Your skills and qualifications:

Manufacturing experience

Ability to work in confined spaces

Be able to use a variety of hand tools and accurately measure

Knowledge of health and safety processes would be beneficial
