Would you like to play a key role in the development of an advanced weapon system for the UK and French MOD? We currently have a vacancy for an Ammunition Design Authority at our site in Bourges, France.

As an Ammunition Design Authority, you will be working as part of a joint venture organisation, CTA International (CTAI), established by Nexter and BAE Systems. Specifically you will be working with the recently developed Case Telescope Armament System (CTAS), a revolutionary medium calibre (40mm) weapon system. Having qualified the cannon and ammunition in 2014 the company is now in full rate production and further product development, with a strategic objective to market CTAS beyond the home markets of UK and French MoD.

This role will provide you with the chance to work with cutting edge technology on a brand new armament system. You will also have the opportunity to work overseas with both UK and international customers.

The position will be for a three year contract.

Your main responsibilities as an Ammunition Design Authority will involve:

Monitoring the ammunition development and qualification activity and providing technical guidance to the engineering team

Reviewing and (when acceptable) approving the following deliverables:

- Drawings

- Technical specifications

- Requirements verification matrix

- Maintenance solution(s)

- Design justification documentation

- Certificate of design

Representing CTAI on the external/customer Change Control Boards (CCBs) and technical or project reviews

Chairing the internal technical phase reviews

Maintaining compliance of manufacturing processes to the design standard via review of production process and concessions

Ensuring technical consistency across the multiple ammunition products

Maintaining the product development route map and supporting the identification and delivery of product development through PV projects or funded development projects

Your skills and qualifications as an Ammunition Design Authority :

Essential:

Ammunition design, development and qualification experience

Experience in a technical leadership role with responsibility for design decisions, engineering plans and customer technical interface

Experience of safety case development for ammunition with current knowledge of qualification processes and safety authority and approval processes

Desirable:

Specific knowledge of medium calibre ammunitions engineering would be an advantage although equivalent knowledge from other calibres or warhead domains could equally be acceptable
