Air Traffic Engineer
Would you like to be involved in maintaining the wide range of communication, navigational and surveillance equipment used in Air Traffic Control? We currently have a vacancy for an Air Traffic Engineer at our site in Warton.
This role will provide you with the opportunity to join a specialist team, enabling you to learn a lot and progress your career.
Your main responsibilities as an Air Traffic Engineer will involve:
Maintaining equipment such as; Instrument Landing System, Distance Measuring Equipment, Airfield Surveillance Radar, Non Directional Beacon, High Resolution Direction Finder, Radio Transmitters and Receivers and Voice Communication Control System
Maintaining equipment within Air Traffic Control and on the airfield
Carrying out routine maintenance of equipment
Reacting to faults and dealing with them appropriately
Working on on-going projects and improving the systems
Your skills and qualifications:
HNC or equivalent in Electrical/Electronic Engineering
All applicants must either hold a valid CAA Personal Technical Certificate (PTC) or provide evidence of competency on relevant air traffic equipment
Experience in fault investigation and rectification to component level and be familiar with basic and specialist telecommunications test equipment
Worked within a radio or radar environment – basic training and/ or experience
Civil or military airfield experience
A good understanding of Windows and Linux/Unix PC architecture plus network and data communications knowledge is desirable

Salary: £35,660+ (Commensurate with skills and experience)
Location: Warton
You will have the opportunity to work shifts, providing an uplift on your salary.
