JOB PURPOSE
Reporting to the Manager Air Traffic Control Training the Job Holder is to supervise the Air Traffic Control Training Department within the Technical Studies Squadron of the KFAA for the delivery of Air Traffic Management and Post Graduate Air Traffic Management Training.

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES
Within the Air Traffic Controller Training Department, the Job Holder is to:
The Job Holder will assume responsibility for one or more of the following Air Traffic Controller Training Phases.
· ICAO 051
· ICAO 052 Aerodrome Control
· ICAO 053 Non Radar Approach Control
· ICAO 054 Radar Approach Control
Ensure that the company not be put at risk legally; its reputation is not damaged and the Company satisfies the customer's needs per the LOA3 agreement
Deputise for the Manager Air Traffic Control Training in his absence.
Apply Company procedures for Systems Approach to Training and Training Governance.
Apply Company procedures for configuration control of curriculum and courseware, including preparing documentation recommendation and supporting data for curriculum or courseware changes to the Manager Air Traffic Control Training.
Review courseware and proposed development plans.
Apply Company procedures for the Training, Evaluations and Proficiency assessments of instructors.
Preparation of timetables, scheduling and instructor allocation using the TMIS and FlighPro Systems.
In conjunction with Manager Air Traffic Control Training manage staff' professional development and training.
Raise reports on the performance of individual staff members, cadets classes, and departmental performance to the Manager Air Traffic Control Training.
Ensure effective use of the TMIS / LMS system to maintain accurate, up to date, comprehensive, orderly and easily accessible training records.
Counsel Cadets on academic matters according to approved Technical Studies Squadron and Departmental procedures.
Prepare and invigilate Tests, Assessments and Examination approved Technical Studies Squadron and Departmental procedures.
Provide an environment that encourages independent learning and a military ethos.
Provide management feedback to improve service performance, responsiveness and identify opportunities.
Provide departmental personnel with professional guidance.
Ensure compliance with company SHE policy and Duty of Care responsibilities.
Undertake all mandatory and developmental training as required by the Company.
Adhere to acceptable standards of behaviour, dress and performance as defined in Company policy.
Any other duties as deemed reasonable and appropriate by the Company.
The Manager Air Traffic Control Training tasks the Job Holder, approves his work and reviews his performance. The Job Holder is to operate on his own initiative and demonstrate innovative and bold behaviours to achieve his job objectives.
Selection of the job holder is to be, preferably but not exclusively, by internal promotion from within the KFAA Technical Studies Department.
RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION
The job holder is to have:
Essential:
Instructional experience at an Academic, Aviation Training Organisation or Air Navigation Service Provider.
Hold an Air Traffic Controllers Licence issued by an ICAO Contracting State with validated ratings in Aerodrome Control (ICAO 052), Non Radar Approach Control (ICAO 053) and Radar Approach Control (ICAO 054), or Certificates of Competence issued by a State Authority in the disciplines of Aerodrome Control, Radar Approach Control and Non Radar Approach Control. A former RSAF Air Traffic Control Officer should be AFSC 1523.
Completion of an Instructional Techniques Course.
Experience as an Operational Air Traffic Controller with experience of military fast jet, transport and helicopter operations and as an OJTI.
Served at the King Faisal Air Academy (KFAA) as an Air Traffic Control Instructor for a or have experience of teaching in a supervisory or coordinating capacity in an academic or military aviation training institution.
Experience as a Unit Training and / or Standards Officer.
Hold an ECDL or equivalent certificate of computer competence.
Fluency in English to ICAO level 6.
Desirable
Military background.
Current Air Traffic Controller / Instructor.
Holder of an ICAO 055 Rating with Validation
Hold an Air Traffic Controllers Examiner Licence
Business Management Qualification.
