Aeronautical Engineer
Would you like to become a valued member of our Engineering team, supporting the design and development of military aircraft? We currently have a number of vacancies for Aeronautical Engineers at our site in either Warton or Samlesbury.
As an Aeronautical Engineer, you will be placed in a team undertaking a specific role on an aircraft programme such as the Hawk, Typhoon or a new programme in the future pipeline. BAE Systems Air Sector Engineering is responsible for the design and build of fixed wing military, training aircraft and unmanned aircraft, as well as providing training, support and information services for the UK RAF and other customers worldwide. You will typically be part of a team consisting of six to eight members, reporting to a Team Leader. Depending on your academic background, this role could focus on in structural design of wings and fuselages; design of avionics systems such as radar and defensive aids; or ensuring that our products conform to customer requirements.
You will have the opportunity to play a key role ensuring quality products are delivered to the armed forces. The role itself will enable you to learn from experienced engineers, whilst working on interesting and varied activities.
Your main responsibilities as an Aeronautical Engineer will involve:
· Analysing data
· Report or specification writing
· Carrying out engineering calculations
· Modelling activities, such as system modelling, finite element analysis, as well as functional and physical modelling
Your skills and qualifications as an Aeronautical Engineer:
At least a 2.2 degree (or equivalent) in a STEM subject, such as: maths, physics, systems engineering, aerospace, aeronautical, mechanical, electrical or computer science
Good IT skills with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint

You will ideally have a passion to develop a career within engineering, alongside a willingness to learn from others and work effectively as part of a team. You must have good analytical and problem solving ability. Excellent verbal and written communications will also be key to enabling the production of high quality outputs within this role.

Salary: £32, 660
