POP Process Department focuses on Licensing projects, development of Modular Units Projects, as well as the development and homologation of new technologies.
Axens provides cutting-edge Fluidized Catalytic Cracking technology for both conventional gas oil cracking (FCC) and residue cracking (RFCC), successfully introduced to the market and upgraded through a collaborative partnership involving Axens (technology developer and licensor), IFPEN (R&D), Total (operational expertise), and Technip Energies (engineering innovation).
We are seeking an intern to conduct studies in order to enhance simulation tools related to this process.
Tasks and activities:
Assigned to the Process Licensing department, you will be responsible for generating a new version of the reference simulation for FCC/RFCC unit. Aveva Pro/II is currently used to generate these simulation files and produce Heat & Mass Balance as main basis for development of Process Design Package.
The aim of this internship is to create an updated reference simulation file using both text-based interface (.inp) and graphical environment (.prz).
Your main activities will be:
· Build a new master simulation for the Fractionation and Gas plant sections (including implementation of pressure balance, thermal integration and other necessary items)
· Integrate sour water simulation into the new simulation & develop
· Compare numerical results, convergence behavior, execution time and maintainability of the new simulation file generated against the existing one
· Participate in project or method activities to test the new simulation.
The trainee will be integrated in operational teams in a multicultural environment.
