We are looking for our next Junior Risk Modeler for Natural Catastrophes Apprentice  as of September 2026 and for 1 year at our AXA Headquarters!

 

Location: 25 avenue Matignon, 8th arrondissement Paris.

Within Group Risk Management (GRM) , you will join the P&C (Property & Casualty) modeling team as a Junior Risk Modeler for Natural Catastrophes. 

 

YOUR ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

What You’ll Do

·  Develop and validate spatial downscaling methodologies applicable to fine-scale hazard modelling
·  Develop models to automate large scale diagnostics of exposure and model results (detection of anomalies, spatial statistics, usage of imagery…) to reinforce exposure data quality and model results interpretability

 

YOUR PROFILE

Who You Are

·  Currently in the last year of a master’s degree program in mathematics, actuarial science, computer science, or a related field, such as engineering
·  Strong interest in academic research, natural peril modeling and climate change
·  Strong analytical mindset, proficient programming skills (Python, R), a machine learning background would be a plus
·  Meticulous attention to details and autonomy to execute tasks
·  Ability to thrive in a fast-paced international environment
