Automotive Cost Engineer

AVL Research and Engineering Turkey is a member of the AVL Group with almost 10.000 employees working worldwide on the development of vehicle powertrains, controls, software, instrumentation and test systems. We are looking for highly qualified and talented individuals to join our engineering team at R&D Centers in Istanbul.

Your Responsibilities:
·  Taking part in the development of methods for Cost Engineering
·  Generating and/or working on the Bills of Material (BOM)
·  Evaluating alternate ideas for design and production
·  Supporting AVL Development Team by making cost optimization
·  Assessment of technical changes in the component development process
·  Calculation of process cost for OEM`s and suppliers
·  Updating the Application for Product Cost Database with the calculation data
·  Coordinating the technical workshop and component teardown events
·  Presenting outcome of the projects both internally and at the supplier site

Desired profile

Your Profile:
·  Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Automotive or Aeronautical Engineering
·  Preferably MSc qualification
·  Military service completed or postponed at least two years for male candidates
·  In-depth knowledge of at least one of the fundamental production methods (machining, die casting, forging, sheet metal technology, plastic injection, forming)
·  A relevant experience in the following area is a PLUS, cost analysis or operations scheduling with an OEM or TIER-1 Supplier
·  Experience in the design of an automotive component
·  Fluent speaking and excellent writing skill in English
·  Good communication, presentation and planning skills
·  Willingness for frequent and long term travel abroad
