The Customer department merges the key functions of Marketing and Customer Insights which brings together customer experience, customer data and marketing to the forefront of our business.
The key activities include driving customer Insight, improving customer Experience through the collection and redemption journey, Research & Development, Brand Strategy & Guidelines, Campaign Management & Execution, Marketing Strategy & Planning, PR and CRM.
What will you be doing?
This role will support Avios Group Limited (AGL) revenue and contribution targets as well as customer experience pillars by delivering programme and airline customer communications and marketing campaigns.
This exciting role will work within the Partner Marketing team to deliver relevant and effective campaigns which support delivery of the 12 month marketing plan in collaboration with Partner Marketing, Brand and Customer Insight.
This role will also build effective working relationships with partners, marketing agencies, and the studio to deliver campaigns on time, on target, on brand and to agreed budget.
The Marketing Executive will predominantly be office based in Crawley, however may be required to work from London based agencies and travel to British Airways head office Heathrow when needed.
Key role responsibilities
- Delivering below-the-line communications/campaigns for Avios currency and Frequent Flyer Programmes
- Delivering agreed business KPIs through effective below-the-line marketing (including DM, SMS, mobile, social, emails) across all Frequent Buyer Programmes
- Managing the campaign process from receipt of a campaign brief through to developing appropriate briefs (creative, data, fulfilment etc) to sign-off and execution. This involves liaison with Avios or programme contact (eg Brand, Partner teams , Insight and external contacts).
- Providing commercial and marketing briefs to partner teams to secure marketing support in partner channels
- Enhancing and developing marketing communications by increasing open and click rates through effective implementation of segmentation and personalisation across each campaign to maximise response
- Executing email test and learn activity such as multi-variant creative, subject lines, and segmentation tests to optimise performance and improve ROI
- Implementing and continually challenging personalisation and targeting within all communications to achieve maximum commercial results
- Working closely with internal (and external if appropriate) legal & brand teams to ensure all campaigns remain onbrand and comply with legal and regulatory requirements
- Administration of marketing plan and budget allocation
- Working collaboratively within a team to deliver excellence in customer communications
- Presenting results and plans to key teams and stakeholders to obtain buy-in and understanding of marketing activities for Avios programmes
- Building strong & effective relationships with external marketing agencies to meet defined KPIs
- Additional administrative and support activity for the team as necessary

- Marketing communication experience including campaign delivery
- Ideally an understanding of collection partner operations and processes
- Experience of working in financial services industry desirable but not essential
- Some experience of digital acquisition channels (e.g. affiliates, aggregators, PPC, SEO) desirable but not essential
- Good communication skills and good at building relationships across the business
- Strong project management and organisational skills
- Able to evaluate and provide objective and consistent feedback on concepts and creative execution
- Passionate about customers and utilising marketing insight to write exciting briefs that motivate agencies/creative teams to produce powerful and effective campaigns and communications that meet business objectives
- Ability to interpret data and identify insights from past campaign performance to inform future activity
