Job description

We have several great opportunities to work as a Production Editor on lists of world renowned Academic journals. These roles are based in the publishers Oxfordshire head office.

Key duties:

  • Production control of a portfolio of academic journals
  • Liaising with internal and external editors to obtain copy for publication to agreed schedules
  • Monitoring and managing supplier performance and freelance copyeditors
  • Coordinating and collating author and editor corrections
  • Quality checking articles and issues against style and agreed checklists
  • Working as an enthusiastic and cooperative team player

Experience / skills required:

  • An understanding of the academic journals publishing process is required
  • Prior experience working in a journals publishing environment is highly preferred
  • Previous production experience would be desirable but is not necessary
  • Experience of managing customer relationships, both internally and externally is required
  • You will have proven experience working to tight deadlines
  • You will have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (especially MS Word and Excel)
