Core responsibilities –
The Engineer will work with a team of individuals to support Microsoft Windows 2003/2008/2012 server environments and underlying virtualization technologies. The individual should have hands-on experience with various infrastructure management products.
Azure is a must
Management and maintenance over Microsoft and VMware based infrastructures.
Working experience in VMware vCenter,P2V, V2V and P2P migrations
Microsoft Clustering (Physical & Virtual Clustering)
Microsoft Remote Desktop Services (RDS, formerly Terminal Services)
Networking: In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP, SMB, Kerberos, LDAP, Netmon Packet Capture etc.
Networking: In-depth knowledge on DNS and DNS query, Zone Transfer etc.
Experience in Microsoft Deployment Toolkit, Server Build / Decommission Process.
Extensive Experience in Windows Troubleshooting and Debugging skills.
Enterprise backup agents (TSM, Backup Exec, NetBackup, etc.)
Experience in Windows Patching Process e.g. BMC Server Automation (BladeLogic)
Other server management Tools like HPSIM, ILO, etc.
Experience in server recovery during Disaster Recoveries as well as participation in DR activities.
Good Understanding of ITIL Processes (Incident, Problem and change management)
In depth understanding of supporting technologies: IIS, WINS/DHCP/DNS, Anti-Virus, Systems Management, Optimization Tuning, RCA
Tasks coordination among internal and third-party teams,
Reporting.
Customer service skills and client focus.
Process and documentation
Working knowledge on ticketing tool (e.g. BMC Remedy, ServiceNow, etc.)
Ensuring to meet defined SLA’s.
Minimum Requirements –
Practical knowledge about Windows Server 2003/2008/2012/2016
Azure
Microsoft Windows Clustering
General knowledge about VMware (VMware vSphere, SRM, etc.)
General IT knowledge (networking, TCP/IP etc.)
Preferred Qualifications – (Skills that are not mandatory, but nice to have)
· Required years of experience –8-10 years of Wintel server administration experience
· Level of education - bachelor’s degree in computer or equivalent
· Scripting capabilities (PowerShell, VBS)
· Knowledge about installation and configuration of servers
· Ability to patch and upgrade servers
· Knowledge about Enterprise solutions (clustering, RAID, antivirus, Active Directory)
· Microsoft certifications
· Familiar with ITIL
