Network Tooling team is part of Tooling Services organization (TS). Network Tooling Engineer is to provide technical support on network monitoring systems used for fault management, performance management, capacity management, configuration management.

Job Description:
• Oracle should be preferred;
• Linux:
- manage the application (no programming);
- use tools for trouble shooting and data analysis;
- distriputed environment - maintain all components and interconnections;
- flexible adaption of new networks (customers);
- scan new (missing) items and provide interfaces to exchange data;
• Support regarding SoftGuard:
- exceptions have to be analysed and solved;
- describe bugs, collect data and request patches;
- take care of the life cycle (server, OS, software, …);
- manage extension and demolition (server, connection, …);
- coordination of maintenance and tasks regarding the external support;
• Documentation and training of users

 

Skills:
• experienced in SQL (MySQL preferred)- DML/DDL and stored procedures,
• Good experience with scripting and programming languages (Linux scripting, python, etc),
• good experience working in Linux environment,
• network protocols (HTTP, SSH) a plus,
• experience with perl, PHP, HTML and JavaScript a plus
• Web Services a plus
• Strong organizational and written communication skills,
• Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills,
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• knowledge of network technologies:
○ experience regarding:
MIB (Management Information Base)
• ASN.1 (Abstract Syntax Notation One
• Analysis of devices using SNMP tools
○ funded knowledge of
○ network protocols (HTTP, SSH, SSL, SNMP, LLDP, ...);
○ network components (architecture, modules, functions, …);
○ device types (switch, bridge, router, appliances, …);
○ devicce functions (routing (vrf), VLAN, redundancy (HSRP/VRRP), …);
