Job description
The Solution Manager within Atos acts as the manager in projects across the solution lifecycle and delivers the end to end solution design including costing and migration. The Solution Manager links the business mission, strategy, and processes of a customer’s organization to its IT strategy, and documents this using architectural models or views that show how the current and future needs of that organization will be met. Solution Managers drive common approaches and expose information assets and processes across the enterprise. Their goal is to deliver an architecture that supports the most efficient and secure IT environment meeting a company's business needs.
The Solution Manager works closely together with the Engagement Manager and the Sales Team during the bid process. Following contract award the Solution Manager may be required to provide additional governance into the delivery phase to provide continuity and de-risk the solution deployment.
The Solution Manager ensures the IT Architecture solution responds to the business requirements of the customers in the most cost-effective and innovative manner. The Solution Manager validates the overall solution and its deliverability in the dimensions of business, technology, services, resources, timeline and costs.
Responsibilities:
· Work closely with customers to ensure a clear understanding of the their business priorities and needs
· Define the best solution strategy and own the solution
· Lead the solution team with all necessary participants for all parts of the solution
· Analyze the customer business and technical requirements to ensure the solution is aligned accordingly.
· Ensure the developed solution parts will fit together into an integrated end-2-end solution
· Get the required solution design approvals from business and delivery according to the existing processes
· Ensure that the results of risk assessment are documented in the Risk Register and are taken into costing
· Throughout project life cycle, identify and assess all risk factors utilizing relevant checklists (risk analysis) and implement all opportunities for improving results
· Specify all assumptions and ensure appropriate clarification with the customer
· Create the solution cost model to commercial management standards. Take strategic viewpoints and target costing into account
· Hand-over of customer granted solutions to the transformations / delivery partners at an agreed point during the solution life cycle
· Support the solution proposal presentations at customer locations and/or internal offices. Prepare the solution relevant part of the Sales presentation

The Solution Manager is core member of the bid team. Main Interfaces are the other key roles and interfaces of the bid team and the members of the solution team which is headed by the Solution Manager:

Communication skills:
· English business fluent
Technical skills:
The Solution Manager is expected to have
· Special expertise in at least one technology area (as e.g. one of the following tower / practice: Adaptive Workplace; Managed Infrastructure Solutions; Applications Operations; Network & Communications; Identity, Security & Risk Management; Cross Functional; Open systems environments; Mainframe environment, SAP environment, Business Process Management, Enterprise Content Management, Middleware, etc.) and one horizontal area.
· Familiar with national / international standards associated with ICT practice (e.g. ITIL)
· Ability to present and negotiate technical parts (incl. cost impact) in contract negotiations with decision maker
Working Experience:
· At least seven years of experience in functions within IT or Outsourcing
· Experience of aligning solutions to business requirements and priorities
· Management skills in international projects
· Proven track-record in international environment or projects
· Prior experience of working in different MS towers will be added advantage.
