Job description

The Atos UK SAM service creates value for our customers through the identification, understanding and mitigation of the financial risks posed by unlicensed software on their estate. The practical ‘Real World’ aim of the service is to provide our customers with the management information and professional advice needed to control the use of their software assets.
The Senior Software Asset Manager will work closely with, and support the Principle Software Asset Manager in regional implementation of the standard Software Asset Management process and service. Ensuring this is owned, managed, measured and improved for one or more customers.
The Senior Software Asset Manager role is responsible for ensuring all activities within the software asset management lifecycle from management of software requests to optimising license compliance are effectively delivered for one or more customers.
Responsibilities:
Manage and direct the work of the Software Asset Managers and Analysts for the Internal Service and customer accounts:
Logging of software purchases in the Definitive Software Library (DSL).
Manage the maintenance of the Definitive Media Library (DML) for physical copies of software media and licenses in a secure and controlled way in keeping with accepted industry standards.
Proactively manage the Identification of ‘unknown’ software in the Enterprise Management Tool (EMT) and maintain to a high standard, Organisations software signature files, both in the EMT and the DSL.
Act as the holder of the master Software Application List and managing the input of new data from all areas/accounts
Produce Software Compliance Reports at organisational level as required utilising data from the DSL and the EMT.
Producing monthly software installed reports for publication to departmental mangers. 
Produce monthly Service Management Report and statistics for Service Managers.
Produce monthly SAM Reports for the appropriate nominated clients.
Identifying where possible spare license availability and proactively manage ‘Licence Pools’ and provide this information to IT Purchasing
Recommend remedial actions to the Business for resolving under-compliance

Desired profile

Essential / Minimum Criteria
Must be eligible for Security Clearance
Excellent understanding of Tier 1 Vendor software licensing programmes
In-depth understanding of SAM best practice and industry standards
In-depth experience of implementing and operating SAM services to multiple customers
Experience of tier 1 SAM tooling
Knowledge of ITIL
UK wide travel required
Desirable Criteria
Suitable SAM qualifications
ITIL Foundation / Practitioner
