Senior Cisco VoIP Engineer (Voice over IP Engineer) to support our IT outsourced client(s) at our facility in New York.
Location: Must currently live in a daily commutable distance to our facility in New York
Position Overview:
- The Senior Cisco VoIP Engineer supports the planning and implementation of our client's data enterprise IP telephony infrastructure and deployment.
- Responsibilities include technology development and research, design and implementation, infrastructure design, engineering of network-based telephony services, level-2 and level-3 technical problem management.
- Much of the work of the Sr. Cisco VoIP Engineer will be split between project-based efforts and operational support. This position works independently with vendor-partners on technology products and services to ensure smooth operations as well migrations from legacy PBX system to the new Cisco CUCM.
- The Sr. Cisco VoIP Engineer also coordinates with other groups within IT to resolve multi-disciplinary issues
- specifically with the WAN and LAN engineers on technical issues that span these domains.
- Expert knowledge of Cisco Unified Communications Manager (Call Manager) ver. 6x/7x/8x/9x
- Expert enterprise multi-cluster design, integrating CUCM (Call Manager), Unity and Unity Connections, Expert enterprise Contact Center Design and implementation, integration/engineering of UCCX
- Expert knowledge of Cisco Unity and Unity Connections
- Cisco Emergency Responder (CER)
- IPCC and related applications
- Cisco IOS Telephony T1-PRIs/Gateways/MGCP/SCCP/SRST
- Cisco QoS for VoIP
- Expert knowledge of LAN/WAN communications
Desired profile
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
- Cisco certification such as CCNA Voice, CCVP or preferably, CCIE Voice.
- At least 4-6 years of experience in the following skill sets:
* Cisco VOIP Engineer supporting multi-site enterprise clients
* Cisco Unified Communications Suite – Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) / Unity Connections
* UCCX Administration
* Familiarity with AXL for CUCM and its capabilities
* Network Protocols * TCP/IP / SIP / MGCP / SCCP / MPLS
* Phone Systems * IP PBX / PBX
* Cisco Routers / Switches * Configuration / Troubleshooting / Support
* Quality of Service (QOS) * Traffic engineering/ Models / Best Practices
* Excellent English * Written / Verbal
* Must be able to interact confidently and articulately with business units
